This little source for fresh vegetables is right next door to the Harris Teeter, and it does just fine, thank you very much. The Veggie Bin gets stock vegetables like corn, peppers, oranges, and apples from Florida and North Carolina, but it also takes local produce as often as it can. They’re working with the Coastal Conservation League’s GrowFood Carolina distribution center, selling vegetables grown by area farmers like burgundy okra, mustard greens, radishes, and arugula. The prices are reasonable, the experience is friendly and no-nonsense, and the buying is local.
