Vanishing Landscapes

Piccolo's annual juried art show/competition

What is it? Piccolo's annual juried art show/competition, creatively themed Vanishing Landscapes.

Why see it? With our environment in the crosshairs of the American lifestyle, the city's Office of Cultural Affairs decided to recruit the Coastal Conservation League for this year's show. In a first for the exhibition, they've given it a theme: the importance of maintaining our fragile ecosystem and the current state of our planet and environment. The works include two- and three-dimensional pieces and photography.

Who should go? Less than a quarter of the entries received made it into this year's show, juried by Dr. Mokhless Al-Hariri. What remains is literally a best-of-the-best among local and national artists, and should not be missed.

PICCOLO SPOLETO • Free • On view through June 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., daily • City Gallery at Waterfront Park, 34 Prioleau St. • (888) 374-2656
