Earlier this week, Goose Creek Police released video of the alleged assault at Two Keys Tavern. As first reported by the City Paper, the incident in which a bar patron was apparently struck by a bouncer with a pool cue occurred well after the mandatory closing time of 2 a.m. According to the video, the alleged assault occurred shortly around 6:08 in the morning, four hours after closing time.
Last week, three employees of the Goose Creek bar — Gary Eugene Long, 41, of Summervile; Timothy Dale Lawhorn, 35, of Summerville; and Golden Luis Deleon, 30, of North Charleston — were arrested, on charges ranging from assault to robbery and kidnapping. The men no longer work at Two Keys.
Shortly after the video's release, the owner of Two Keys, Mark Keller, issued a statement through his publicist:
"After watching the video, Two Keys Tavern is deeply concerned that such a mindless act could have ever happened in our establishment. We want all of our patrons to know that this was in no way sanctioned by the ownership. This came from our own surveillance video, used for the safety of our patrons, and will work to help prove the truth of what occurred. Two Keys Tavern ownership will continue to work with the authorities to the fullest extent. The video shows that we have an attractive place that has held appeal for some time now, and we want to assure everyone that Two Keys tavern is completely safe and ready to resume our status as the number one tavern in the area.
On Tuesday, Live 5 posted the video of the incident online.
