Last week it was coverage in a variety of national magazines. This week, it seems to be all about television.
Chef Mike Lata has finally let the cat out of the bag in regards to his appearance on Iron Chef America. He will be facing down Jose Garces on Sun. Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. To celebrate, he'll be hosting a live viewing party at Taco Boy. They'll have a big outdoor screen along with some food and drinks. It's free and open to the public. I can't wait to see this one. In related news, there's no word on when the other two Iron Chef episodes featuring local talent will air.
Good Morning America's Robin Roberts was in town Friday and Saturday filming a segment in which she traded jobs with Paul Godbout at Stella Maris Seafood. Tony Blanchard at Stella Maris tells us that she worked all day on Saturday, taking phone orders and delivering seafood to area restaurants. She stopped by Blossom, Pearlz, Amen Street, and Trattoria Lucca and went to dinner with the crew at Blossom.
Paul will be flying up to New York today for the segment that will air on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Be sure to tune in for that one.
In other news, Charlie Magazine tweeted earlier today that editor Caroline Nuttall was spending the day with an MSNBC crew. "Wrapping up final shoots w/ MSNBC for its Re:Discover series. Insider local tips. Lucca, FIG, RLS, Hampden, G&M and more on the agenda!"
And finally, La Fourchette is filming a segment today for the Cooking Channel's Unique Eats show. I have a feeling will be seeing those duck-fat frites make an appearance. Owner Perig Goulet says the show will air sometime in 2011.
