three piece rock band, 9 p.m.
If you catch the Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun’s show on Saturday, we know exactly what you’ll be doing — dancing. This “indie-electro-fuzz-rock” band will be playing their dance-happy, new wave tunes alongside Savannah hard-rockers Cusses and Charleston poppers Brave Baby. “After an extended writing and revamping hiatus from the road, this will be our first show back, and we’ve got some fun new toys and sounds to share,” the band says. The two-girl, two-guy mash-up began back in 2005 as a combination of two bands, Avenge Vegas and Linger. This Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode-inspired group has a distinct dissonant tone that keeps their electric guitar-infused sound on edge, and they’ve been working on amping up their live shows. “We’ve added some new gear to our arsenal, and our shows are sounding huger than ever,” they tell us. After their last tour date in August, Today the Moon will be recording some new music with Ryan Schaefer from Royal Bangs before hopefully hitting Europe. —Kalyn Oyer SATURDAY
