On Thursday night, Hampden Clothing will host a trunk show and party dedicated to New York designers Timo Weiland and Lizzie Fortunato. Weiland is best known for his eclectic men’s and women’s clothing lines. Raised between rural Nebraska and New York City, he is influenced by both the urban and the pastoral. Meanwhile, Lizzie Fortunato Jewels is run by twin sisters Elizabeth and Kathryn Fortunato, who design and sell a wide variety of jewelry and leather goods, including statement necklaces and funky earrings. “It’s got this Old World, New World vibe,” says Erin Engebritson, Hampden’s marketing manager. Both designers will bring their entire fall collections, providing a rare glimpse for Charleston fashionistas. “It’s definitely an opportunity to get something we wouldn’t normally have,” Engebritson adds. “It’s just going to be like a laid-back, fun party.” Along with the trunk sale, the Roti Rolls food truck will serve Asian cuisine to guests, La Bubbly champagne and Westbrook Beer will provide the drinks, and DJ JAZ will perform.
