The Red Party goes to Oz

The American College of the Building Arts will be painting the town red yet again at their fourth annual Red Party tonight. This year’s theme is the World of Oz and ACBA’s Director of Institutional Advancement, Kerri Forrest, promises that this will be quite the spectacular. “Designer Cortney Bishop has been working tirelessly to make the party feel like you’re going to be in Oz. We’ll have a yellow brick road, a dance floor 'under the rainbow,' and the VIP Emerald City Lounge.”

Last year’s circus-themed party was covered in live performers and attractions, including men on stilts, and this year will be no exception. “The attractions will be similar to last year's, and I don’t want to give away too much, but I can say that you will see some flying monkeys and munchkins,” Forrest revealed.

You can dance the night away in whatever red attire you choose to sport with live music by the V-tones for the first two hours, followed by the music stylings of DJ C.Nile. In between songs, you can check out the live auction items which will include fighter pilot flying session, a week rental in San Miguel, space camp experience at Cape Canaveral, and a custom-planned dinner by chef Robert Carter.

As far as food goes, naturally there’s no place like Hom. The Ping Pong bar and restaurant will be providing “munchkin burgers,” alongside sweet treats from Fresh Berry, cupcakes by Cupcake, and a mozzarella and tomato sandwich for the vegetarians provided by Muse. Robert Carter from Carter’s Kitchen will also be creating an amuse-bouche which is appropriately named “witches' brew”. For libations, Hom and Cocktail Club will be there to keep you from being thirsty, serving Oz-themed drinks like the Twister and Dorothy’s Technicolor Dream.

Advance ticket sales are no longer available, but you can still get your ticket at the door for $85. Emerald City VIP tickets are available for $150 and will give you access to a private lounge, early entrance and preview of auction items at 6:30, an exclusive bar, specialty hors d’oeuvres and VIP gift bags. So whip out your best fiery red or Wizard of Oz themed costume, and make your way down the yellow brick road.
