With wild-eyed enthusiasm, nomadic singer/songwriter Megan Jean Glemboski (known best around town simply as Megan Jean) have organized a carnival-like showcase this week called the Red Light Circus Show Spectacular. She and bandmate Byrne Klay recently released a dynamic collection of original tunes titled
Dead Woman Walkin’. They welcome local colleagues Lindsay Holler’s Western Polaroids, the Royal Tinfoil, and the Key of Q to the main stage and on the two decks as a “big top” event. There’ll be live burlesque by Menage a Trois, hula hoopers, fire eaters, and plenty more weirdness. “This all-locals bash is a collaborative celebration of Charleston’s unique female-empowered alternative arts, music, and burlesque scene,” says Megan Jean. “It will be Charleston’s first fully-choreographed burlesque show set to live original music.” Both Lily Slay of the Royal Tinfoil and Lindsay Holler will be celebrating birthdays during the show.
