Saskatoon-based roots-rock band the Deep Dark Woods add their own Canadian mistiness to the alt-country style/ Comparisons to the Band are immediate and obvious, but they sound more like a collaboration of Mississippi Delta boys out in the pines than the soundtrack to Iditarod. The band’s fourth (and latest) album is The Place I Left Behind.
