The Confederate Ghost Walk is an annual fund-raising event that provides for the care, maintenance and upkeep of the "Soldiers Ground," the Hunley plot, the annual Memorial Day observance, and maintenance and repair of monuments located at Magnolia Cemetery. The production (some refer to it as "folk theatre") depicts a series of events (scenarios) as they may have occurred during the War for Southern Independence. The scenes are essentially living history skits, choreographed and performed by amateur players. The theme of the skit must be based on a historically accurate event related to a Confederate soldier or partisan who lies buried in Magnolia cemetery. The "actors" are all volunteers who belong to various heritage or historical organizations and come from around the State to help make the event a success.
