You can’t go wrong when you’re eating delicious food, bidding on fantastic auction items, and, most importantly, helping at-risk children in the Charleston area. Come indulge in the finest chocolate desserts that Charleston’s top chefs have to offer at the 20th anniversary of the Chocolate Affair. The fundraiser will benefit Communities in Schools (CIS). “Attendance will greatly assist in helping us raise funds to support our drop-out prevention program in Charleston and Berkeley counties.” Jane Riley, director of CIS, says. “It’s a wonderful way for people to help their community.” You can enjoy delicious treats and do a good deed by helping CIS serve nearly 6,000 at-risk children in the Charleston area. Chocolate goodies are not the only food featured on the menu; the event will also have stations of roast beef, pasta choices, and garden vegetables. The night will feature nearly 200 auction items up for grabs, from a dove hunting excursion for four in Argentina, to a pair of tickets to the PGA 2012 Tournament at Kiawah Island, to tickets to the Tony Awards in New York City. Original art from Charleston artists, restaurants, and ticket packages and jewelry are also available. Best Tasting and Most Artistic Chocolate awards will be given out to participating restaurants and an open bar will be available, along with live music from a dance band.
