OK. I kind of have a problem. And I know the first step to beating addiction is admitting it. So here goes: I’m a bibliophile. My bookshelf is packed two rows deep, mostly of books I still haven’t read, and I still manage to pick up at least one new one every month. I’m ready to conquer this habit head on. But I may have to have one last hurrah at That Summer Book Sale, hosted by the Charleston Friends of the Library. Prices start at $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hard covers, and they’ll have DVDs and CDs too, so I can get started on a new kind of collection. I’m thinking about signing up for a FOTL membership, since that means I’ll get into the sale a day early on Thursday night instead of having to wait until Friday like all the other suckers. At least I can be satisfied knowing my money will help out the organization, which uses it to fund library services, buy materials, and more.
