You’ve probably seen the clip — it’s only one of the most iconic scenes in TV history. You know, the one with Lucy and Ethel stomping out grapes in a frenzy. Now you have your chance to copy Lucy at the 10th Annual Grape Stomping Festival. And we mean really copy, since there will also be an I Love Lucy look-a-like contest. If you don’t have the looks to compete, you can take on another challenge and see if you and a teammate can smash enough grapes to create the largest amount of juice in three minutes. Want to participate? Call the vineyard to register and see if you’re the best stomper. Winners will receive a gift basket from Irvin-House Vineyards. For those who aren’t interested in getting grape stains on their feet, there will be wine vendors, wine tastings, frozen wine-a-ritas, and local craft vendors. Kids will be entertained by the jump castles, face painting, and hula hooping. And the event isn’t all fun and games as Ann Irvin confirms that they’re donating proceeds to Frierson Elementary for their afterschool program and Lowcountry Local First. Food vendors and music from Brett Mosley and Guilt Ridden Troubador will also be on site. Coolers are not allowed, but cool dogs on a leash are.
