Florida-born four-piece Surfer Blood — lead singer/guitarist John Paul Pitts, guitarist Thomas Fekete, bassist Kevin Williams, and drummer Tyler Schwarz — have spent the last year settling into new digs in California and recording their Warner Bros. debut with producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built to Spill). They’ve also toured heavily across North America with the Pixies, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Interpol, and the Drums in support the four-song EP Tarot Classic (Kanine), which draws from the stiffness of the Velvet Underground and the Cure and from the nasally rock of the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. A tour with Death Cab for Cutie is on the horizon. Surfer Blood returns to Charleston for their own headlining show at the Music Farm this week. Local bands Hey Rocco and Company (a.k.a. Co.) open. 9 p.m.
