Super Bowl XLIX suds and snacks around town

Bid deals for the big game

While the rest of the U.S. was concerned about flat footballs, we were more concerned about bar deals that may fall flat. Now that would really ruin the Super Bowl. But we've done our research, and here's where to go for drinks, eats, and giveaways for the big game.

Before the game, get pumped with some shucking. From 2-5 p.m., Pearlz in West Ashley will have $12 all-you-can-eat oysters, $4 sangrias, $3 vodkas and mimosas, and $1.50 Miller High Life cans.

Tailgate — or at least drink and eat like you are — at Molly Darcy's, with their $15 tailgate special that includes a pitcher of beer and an order of nachos. The Irish pub will also serve up $4 sangrias and $10 pitchers of domestic beer.

Sip on $2.75 Bud Lights and Shock Tops at King Street Grille downtown.

Boone's Bar will have half-priced wings, as well as $3.50 pints of Palmetto brews and $15 buckets of domestics.

Think you have what it takes to down the most wings, then sign-up for Bay Street Biergarten's wing-eating contest. Wings are provided and the competition is free. If you win, you'll walk away with some Sierra Nevada swag. And even if you don't win, the Biergarten will have drink specials to cool your lips. The bar will also have food specials for those non-competitors.

True Blue's House of Wings is opening up just for pigskin showdown.

Feast on the Super Lowcountry Boil for $25 (it serves two) at Red's Ice House. Or if you'd prefer some pork, order the meat and four for $10. The Shem Creek bar will also have $3.50 Bud and Bud Light aluminum bottles, or you can get four-beer buckets for $20.

Seattle Seahawks fans can head to Liberty Tap Room & Grill in Mt. Pleasant and partake in their happy hour menu for the entire course of the game, which includes $5 food items like wings and chicken feathers. You can also get 50 wings for $40 or 100 wings for $80.

Russell Wilson or Tom Brady could win big, but that doesn;t mean you should be left out too. The Local 616 will be having a cornhole giveaway, as well as $2 Miller Lites and PBRs. It's also a potluck-style celebration, so bring your fave dips and dig in.

Grab $12 domestic buckets, $5 Absolut Peppar Bloodys, $3 mimosas ($12 for a carafe), $3 pints of Miller Lite and Yuengling ($10 pitchers), and $2 for drafts of PBR or Founders All Day IPA at Mac's Place.

Catch the game at The Roost while enjoying $4 Sam Adam Cold Snap drafts. And with 40 wings for $33, you can probably share a few — but only if you want. The West Ashley bar will also have bucket deals as well as Jell-O shots and two ice luges in the shape of helmets.

Moe's Crosstown will have four different Oskar Blues suds on draft. Each pint is $4, and you can walk away with an Oskar Blues glass while supplies last. Moe's will also be serving up $15 buckets of Bud or Bud Light. And for food, the Rutledge Avenue bar will have specials including chili cheese dogs, corn dogs, loaded pulled pork potato skins topped with chipotle lime sour cream, and pork rinds served with a spicy buttermilk sauce.

Grab a domestic bucket for $12 at King Street Public House. You can also indulge in $4 Goose Island IPA or their 312 for $4, Budweiser and Tecate tall boys for $2, and $2 Bud Light drafts. Plus, the bar is offering 25 percent off their wings.

Head to Mynt for $3 wells, $2 domestics, and $6 wing buckets.

You had as at free, Trayce's Too. Chow down on free hot dogs and chili dogs, 50 cent wings, $5.49 10-inch pizza, and $7 cheeseburgers. Wash it all down with a $15 beer bucket.

The Low Down Oven and Bar has $1.50 Buds all the time, but they'll taste extra refreshing during the big game.

Twenty bucks gets you into Charleston Beer Works, where you'll be entered into a drawing for a gift car. You'll also get one complimentary draft and 25 percent off wings.

We won't blame you if you start playing skee ball during the third quarter at The Alley — but you can do so with $2 can beers and $12 domestic buckets. Just wipe your wing fingers down: $20 gets you 25 wings.
