As word lovers, we shouldn’t admit that we love adding “ph” to words that start with “f” — is phat making a comeback yet? Fortunately, the Pour House satisfies our “ph” craving with their Sunday Phunday. Every Sunday, Phish tribute band Runaway Gin plays on the deck, and just like the heady jammers, the cover band never plays the same show or jam the same way twice. Guitarist Andy Greenberg first began doing Sunday Phundays in 2012 with the Buddhist Prodigies. Runaway Gin took over in January. “We are continually rehearsing and learning new material. We’re playing on the road more and drawing huge crowds outside Charleston as well as in. This past weekend we went into the studio and recorded original experimental music that we composed on the spot,” says Greenberg. So share in the groove with Greenberg and his band of Phish phanatics. There’s no phiner way to bring your weekend to a close. OK, we’ll stop now. Roti Rolls will be posted in the parking lot, so you can enjoy a Thurman Merman (creole mac ‘n’ cheese, braised local short ribs, house kimchi), the Funky Farmer (coconut green curried local squash and zucchini, red potatoes, pickled beets, arugula), or another one of Cory Burke’s creations.
