The new classic
The wildly popular series of 10 10-minute long original plays written by College of Charleston students returns to Piccolo for its fourth year. Concise yet powerful, these short plays have tackled everything from drug-addicted co-eds in the rousing Connected to satirizing women's health issues in the hysterical The Exam to an emotional playground interaction between a married couple in the stirring Swing.
Forget about the Tonys. This year's show includes work from the winners of the prestigious 2010 Franklin B. Ashley Playwriting and the 2009 Todd McNerney Student Playwriting awards.
The next generation of theater
Touted by Piccolo organizers as an "evening focused on new voices and ideas of the next generation of American writers," Under the Lights has become a premier event for up-and-coming talent.
