Hell is other people. In this classic existential drama, Jean-Paul Sartre imagines what hell is like, and it's pretty doggone horrifying: Being trapped in a room with a two other miserable souls for all eternity. It's like Seinfeld without the laughs.
The stage is set. The College of Charleston's student theater company Center Stage is producing this challenging production. But have they bitten off more than they can chew with Sartre's down-beat think piece? That remains to be seen.
The lighter side of death — not! This is a note to all bermuda-short wearing seniors and back-aching blue-hairs out there: This ain't Always Patsy Cline. This is frikkin' Jean-Paul Sartre.
