Want to eat local? Forget farm-to-table and embrace grandma’s-kitchen-to-church-potluck. The tea room at St. Philip’s isn’t quite a potluck, but the dishes are classics, right out of Charleston Receipts, and the parishioners make the food themselves. They’re calling it Lowcountry Lunch and Delicious Desserts. Sample okra soup and chicken salad, but save plenty of room for some hummingbird cake, coconut cake, and Huguenot torte. The tea room will be set up for lunch daily in Parish Hall, and they’ll deliver to downtown locations.
