It's not just for hippies any more. Well, maybe it is. But that doesn't mean that disc golf isn't a really good time. Grab a bag of granola and your environmentally conscious water bottle and get to flinging.

It's Great to Skate
Nothing makes the heart race like a new set of wheels. A rented set of wheels to strap on your feet at the rink isn't so bad, either. Luckily for us, the skating market is ripe and you can own or rent without risking financial hell. These local skating centers will have you comin' round for more.

All the cool kids are going to the Carolina Ice Palace
Soaring temperatures may lead to diminishing patience levels as Charleston denizens try to find the best way to get out some energy during the long summer months. The Carolina Ice Palace may be a saving grace this year with their various summertime deals.
With their Summer Special, six bucks will get you a pair of skates to rent and time on the ice from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Mon.-Fri. For those of you 30 years and up, you can skate to the oldies (sans Richard Simmons), ice dance, and enjoy free refreshments for only $7 on Mon., Wed., and Fri. from 9-11 a.m. Wed. and Thurs. nights are designed for the whole family. For $30, you can rent four pairs of skates, enjoy a large New York-style pizza, and chug down two pitchers of soda. Mon. and Fri. afternoons from 3-5:30 p.m., the Palace runs the After School Special with a pair of skates for $7. And ladies? You can skate for free from 7-9 p.m. on Wed. nights with some wicked drink specials following your skate.
