I think it’s time we all conceded that the next three weeks belong to the arts. Because even with the 100-plus events that are officially connected to Spoleto or Piccolo Spoleto, there’s a ton more going on as well. For example, Broad Street’s Gallery Row is hosting a nightly series called Spoleto Soleil. Galleries like SCOOP Studios, Edward Dare, Hamlet Fine Art, and others will have demos, lectures, trunk shows, parties, and more each night. Some standouts include COCO VIVO Fine Art’s Garden Tea Party on May 29, Gullah storytelling and spirituals with Helen Royal at Ellis-Nicholson Gallery on Wed. June 1, and Spencer Galleries’ lectures on “What is Fine Art?” The Soleil also includes next week’s art walk.
