High school and college cellists are invited to participate in the 2009 South Carolina Cello Choir and Workshop, hosted by College of Charleston cello professor Natalia Khoma. This weekend event is for cellists of all ability levels. The workshop will feature internationally renowned cellist Suren Bagratuni and will take place on Sept. 4 at the Simons Center for the Arts, Sept. 5 at Ashley Hall. Bagratuni and Khoma will present a concert at 8 p.m., Sept. 4, in the recital hall of the Simons Center. Admission will be $15 at the door, $5 for students, and free for registered workshop participants. A Gala Concert featuring full Cello Choir with all of the participants will take place at Ashley Hall at 5 p.m. on Sept. 5. Admission is free.
