Slow Food Charleston’s annual potluck isn’t quite the same kind of potluck you throw with your friends. Instead, guests are required to create a dish using locally sourced ingredients. Then they’ll bring it to Crosby’s Dock and share it with Slow Food members and local eaters.
“It’s a way for people interested in clean, fair, and local food to get together at no cost,” says Charleston’s Slow Food chapter leader Susan Bass. “It’s all about everyone preparing a dish and then coming to enjoy the food. It’s a way to get the word out about Slow Food and eating local.” Guests are encouraged to bring their own beverages as well. For more information visit slowfoodcharleston.org.
