Skoogie's has been around for more than 30 years, plenty long enough to make it a Mt. Pleasant institution. The tiny lunch stand has a tasty selection of hot and cold deli sandwiches — BLTs, Reubens, and Italian beef — but the hot dogs and shoestring fries are the real draw. King of them all is the Skoogie Dog. It's a genuine Vienna Beef weiner in a steamed poppy-seed bun, piled high with onions, mustard, tomatoes, and "sport peppers" and finished off with a kosher pickle strip and a dash of celery salt.
