Share Our Strength’s tagline — “in the world’s wealthiest nation, no kid should grow up hungry” — reminds me of something Louis C.K. said on his TV show last week: “My life is really evil. There are people who are starving in the world, and I drive an Infiniti. That is really evil.” It’s funny (and it actually is when he says it) because it’s true. How lucky are we to live in a land of abundance, and how wrong is it that people are going hungry all around us?
McCrady’s Chef Sean Brock once again lends his talents to the cause, pulling together a stellar lineup of chefs for a multi-course dinner. Brock will be joined by Zach Bell of Café Boulud (Palm Beach, Fla.), Ashley Christensen of Poole’s (Raleigh, N.C.), R.J. Cooper III of Vidalia (Washington, DC), Sam Mason (N.Y.), and Craig Deihl of Cypress (Charleston).
Attendees will be able to bid on auction items and enjoy the wine-paired dinner while contemplating how great it is that they get to enjoy such an amazing meal while helping out the world’s neediest children.
