Whisky and jazz. Two equally smooth and decadent pleasures, destined to be together — or at least that’s what Hans Offringa believes. Offringa, Dutch author and whisky connoisseur, is in town for four events surrounding the launch of his new book
Whisky & Jazz. The Second Wednesday Whisky Tasting will be a meet-and-discuss style gathering. All attendees will receive signed copies of the book and plenty of single-malt tastings. It’s also a good reason to go and check out the clean and livable designs of the showrooms at the Kitchen Co. (think a tastefully renovated Long Island summer home). There will be hors d’oeuvres provided by the creative culinary minds of KSKC and champagne and desserts at Lesesne to follow. Also on the tour and separately-sold events are two concerts by Charleston jazz singer Ann Caldwell at Gallery Chuma on Sunday afternoon, a Whisky Dinner with the author at Halls Chophouse on Monday, and a reception and whisky tasting at the Renaissance Hotel on Tuesday evening. An all-indulgent, extra-long weekend for whisky die-hards.
