Sea Island Savory Herbs is a nursery wonderland where you can find all manner of aromatic and medicinal herbs, edible flowers, vegetable starts, shade-lovers, and ornamental plants like cactus, kaffir lime, and three-foot ginger. It's a great place to spend your Saturday picking out some vegetable starts for your garden. Though Sea Island Savory took over for Pete's Herbs almost four years ago, the essence still lingers. If you're lucky, Skip, Pete's father, will emerge during your visit and tell you the history of how there came to be such a nice camellia grove around the farm. Since Kirk Young took over, the business has continued to offer upwards of 10 varieties of rosemary, lavender, thyme, and mint, and there has been a proliferation of topiaries, succulent creations ($6-$150) and living wreaths ($60-$100). You'll find them at the Mt. Pleasant and downtown farmers markets. They also do business with restaurants like McCrady's and stores like Hyams and Piggly Wiggly.
