School of the Arts hosts Jump, Jive, and Wail

The school's jazz ensemble will perform

A “homecoming” of sorts for the School of the Arts, the 11th Annual Jump, Jive, and Wail will take place this Saturday at the Charleston Visitor Center bus shed.

The event, which is open to the community, features a night of music by the school’s acclaimed jazz ensemble. The 24-member band is led by SOA high school band director Basil Kerr, whom was recognized as one of the nation’s top band directors. From Santana to Sonny Rollins, the ensemble’s set spans several decades of music while demonstrating the students’ skills.

In addition to music, food and drink will also be provided at the event. Proceeds benefit the SOA’s music program.

To buy tickets or get more information on the event, visit the band's website.
