British electric guitar virtuoso Robin Trower and his band retain a distinctive hard-rock funkiness — a sharp and biting style heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Cream, and Zeppelin that only a few acts can master. Last summer, the veteran axeman released a three-disc box set containing his five Chrysalis albums which came out between 1973-’76. His latest collection is titled
The Playful Heart. Listen for his riffy hits “Day of the Eagle,” “Bridge of Sighs,” and “Too Rolling Stoned.” Doors open at 7 p.m.
