There’s more to reggae than Bob Marley and dreadlocks. And James Island County Park wants to show some of that diversity with their Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series. They’ve been putting these on since the mid-’90s as family-friendly events to celebrate Caribbean culture, and the final concert of this summer’s series is Saturday, featuring Mystic Vibrations. Doors open at 8 p.m., giving you time to get situated in the meadow before the show starts. This is the first year they’ve held concerts in the meadow rather than the picnic area. Sarah Reynolds of CCPRC says the larger space “gives folks more room to spread out blankets and chairs and enjoy the evening.” It also allows more space for food trucks. Keep an eye out for Little Star of the Caribbean, Charleston Festival Foods, Kool Katz Italian Ice, Mike’s Boiled Peanuts, and Cannonborough Beverage Company. Reflections African Jewelry, Creative Sensations, and Irie Innovations will also be on site selling handmade crafts.
