Redux undergoes renovations just in time for new show

Redux News

To meet the growing needs of the community, Redux Contemporary Art Center has done a little redux of its own by sprucing up its classroom and print shop. These two rooms are not just used as a place of learning and printing, but for outreach programs, music events, lecture series, and film screenings. Stop by to check out the improvements.

In other news, mark your calendars for 1x1: College of Charleston Studio Art Department Student x Faculty Exhibition, opening Fri., Jan. 22. New works will be debuting from all nine tenured College of Charleston faculty members. Each are paired with a student they have chosen to also show off some of their works, a teaching-by-doing technique to expose future professional artists. Among the artists being displayed are John Hull with Marshall Thomas, Michelle Van Parys with Matthew Bowers, and Jarod Charzewski with Liz Vaughan.

The artwork will be on display until March 6. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact Redux at (843) 722-0697 or go to the website
