Public Enemy at the Music Farm

Chuck D and Flava Flav lead the way in Sept.

Music Farm and All-In Entertainment announced a big show this week: Hip-Hop pioneers Public Enemy — led by Chuck D and Flava Flav — are solid for a show at the venue on Wed. Sept. 15 at 8 p.m.

The New York-based group formed in the mid-'80s and signed to the Def Jam label in 1987, promptly releasing Yo! Bum Rush the Show. Their 1988 opus It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back is widely hailed as one of the most groundbreaking and influential hip-hop albums ever. It looks like most of the original PE lineup is intact (minus turntablist Terminator X).

The group's most recent album, How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul???, hit the street in 2007. Now that Flav's not too preoccupied with a VH1 reality series (he starred in The Surreal Life, Strange Love, and Flavor of Love), a new studio collection might be in the works.

Tickets for the Music Farm show go on sale for $30 on Fri. July 2. See and for more.
