Sure, you can watch TV while you eat dinner, but why don’t you watch a play while you eat lunch? Threshold Repertory Theatre and the Harbour Club are giving you the opportunity to feed your upscale appetite with Judy Simpson Cook’s Retrieving the Lamb, a comedy about a rag-tag church group that loses the lamb while trying to put together a nativity scene. Because of the space, the play is more of a reading series without all the costumes and elaborate sets, but the intimacy of the venue creates a special connection between the crowd and the actors. “Actors sit and talk with the audience and answer any questions people have about the production,” explains Threshold’s Courtney Daniel. “Because the Harbour Club ends up pairing the meal with the show, it becomes an all-sensory type of experience.” The lunch will be holiday themed with turkey, cranberry sauce, herb bread pudding, and all the fixin’s.
