Piccolo Spoleto Festival Juried Art Exhibition

Margaret Hoybach, the painting/2-D juror for the show, selected a total of 65 diverse and stimulating works from the 272 pieces submitted. The Exhibition promises to provide an excellent display from a diverse and talented group of of talented South Carolina artists. Part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

Southern artists
Piccolo's juried exhibition is coordinated by the Charleston Artist Guild and sponsored by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs. Margaret Hoybach and Jack Alterman are this year's jurors. With 166 entries (49 photographs and 69 paintings were selected) this year's juried exhibit has set an all-time record. It's on view at the Charleston Visitor Center throughout the festival.

Art camp
With more than 110 exhibitors, the outdoor art exhibit at Marion Square is a favorite event every year. Wander through the tents to admire the diverse range of styles, talk to some favorite local artists, and view free demonstrations all in one afternoon.

Silver and Gold
"Dixie Dugan is 80 years young and will probably retire after this year," says Vicki Ellis, a volunteer and artist. "She does exquisite collage work, watercolor, and drawings and knows her way around a rectangle."
