We wish we could join the wolf pack from the Hangover, but since they’re fictionalized movie characters, we can’t. But the red wolves at Charles Towne Landing are real, so when Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s Remix’s wind ensemble performs next to them this Sunday it’ll be like your own pack. The performance is Remix’s first ever family-friendly event, and they aptly chose to perform Peter and the Wolf. Director of marketing Tara Scott says, “The story is a classic and hearing the different instruments performing the part of the characters is a great way to introduce children — and their parents — to the wonderful ability musicians have in crafting a story through sound alone.” Adding some more family fun, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League’s “Petting Zoo” will also be available for children to test out various instruments and learn more about symphonic music. There’ll be arts and crafts and refreshments by Sugar Bake Shop, as well as a celebration of the new exhibit, making for a pretty packed afternoon.
