If you’ve ever sunbathed in Marion Square, played in the fountain at Waterfront Park, or hung out on a swing at the Battery, you know the quality of Charleston’s parks. To help support the upkeep of areas like these, the Charleston Parks Conservancy is throwing its Fourth Annual Party for the Parks at Colonial Lake. “This is our largest fundraiser every year, and it has been growing each time to help support renovations and maintenance for our parks,” explains Holly Fisher from the Conservancy. A portion of the proceeds will help kick off the public fundraising for the $5 million renovation of Colonial Lake. Food and drinks are included with the ticket price, with many local vendors on hand such as Amen Street Fish and Raw Bar, the Rarebit, Oak Steakhouse, and Sugar Bakeshop. Guests can bid on both silent and live auction items like a week-long trip to Cabo, a stay at a Colorado ski resort, or diamond earrings. It’ll be easy to save your weekly good deed for this event.
