You’ve never seen a street festival this fancy. The Charleston Parks Conservancy’s annual Party in the Parks, which those in the know will tell you is always a super-swank affair, is taking some cues from the carnival this year and going big on entertainment with an aerialist, a laser show, and a lake-side fire show, not to mention two live bands and a DJ. “The event is going to be an upscale street party with a fall twist,” says the Conservancy’s Brittany Wallace. And she means upscale — instead of popcorn and funnel cakes, think lamb sausage sliders and gelato. Other yummy menu items include shrimp ceviche, antipasto platters, gourmet donuts, and a cappuccino cart. If you really love your parks (and we know you do), go big with a $150 VIP pass, which will give you access to the VIP tent with a lounge, food by Magnolias, Blossom, and Cypress, and a private bar so you can spend more time drinking and less time jostling through the crowd. Who knew supporting local green space could be this decadent?
