The Greater Park Circle Film Society presents The Broken Hearts Club, a film about criminal psychiatrist Dr. Terrence N. Thiebold, who grows tired of treating overly dramatic, bickering couples and would rather study the criminally insane. Thiebold sees some hope when offered a job at a prestigious clinic if he can successfully help his newest patients. An official selection of this year’s Hollywood Black Film Festival, The Broken Hearts Club will be shown at the South of Broadway Theatre, 1080 E. Montague Ave., in North Charleston on Oct. 24 at 4 and 7 p.m.
In honor of Halloween, the Greater Park Circle Film Society is also showing Sam Raimi’s comedic horror flick Evil Dead II at The Mill, 1026 E. Montague Ave., North Charleston, on Oct. 30 at 10 p.m. The low-budget classic stars B-movie icon Bruce Campbell and is packed with plenty of gross-out gore and slapsticky laughs.
