Open now: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar

Have you been yet?

Amen Street Fish and Raw Bar opened last week at the corner of Cumberland and East Bay streets. Owner Keith Jones (Southend Brewery) says they've already had some fairly busy nights. The menu has classic raw bar selections, including oysters from the May River in Beaufort. The appetizer menu ranges from calamari and fried oysters to mussels and shrimp cocktail, and the entrées focus on fresh fish preparations.

Stop by 205 East Bay St. and check it out yourself, then come back and let us know what you thought. Post your review here. They're open for lunch, dinner, and late night. For reservations, call (843) 853-8600.

Still stunned by Amen Street. Huge curving bar. Amazing rare oyster selection. $21 fillet Mignon. High gravity beers. Wide open tall windows overlooking East Bay. Lots of old Raval and Boathouse staff. Still working out the kinks, but highly recommended upscale yet cost-effective new hot spot for Charleston's SOB and upper King Street crowds, right next to High Cotton. Thanksgiving bar crowd will not be same after this week...
