UNDER THE SEA. Once On This Island is what you would get if you crossed Romeo and Juliet and The Little Mermaid, all with a Caribbean flair. It originally ran on Broadway in the 1990s and was nominated for eight Tony Awards.
KIDS THESE DAYS. But wait, you ask. Where do you get the "Jr." from? Well, that's because this version stars performers from local dance school Once Upon a Ballet.
TINY DANCERS. The performers are aged 7 through 13, so while they may be performing in Piccolo this year, they may be the stars of Spoleto one day in the future. The original production is a bit serious (we all know how Romeo and Juliet ends, after all), so it'll be interesting to see how these tykes interpret the story.
