Oak Steakhouse hosts the 'epic' Stillwater and Evil Twin beer dinner

Charleston Beer Exchange and Chef Jeremiah Bacon co-present a very special eight-course session

It was bound to happen. Chef Jeremiah Bacon already had a strong reputation for delivering wonderful parings with beer dinners at Carolina's before he took the job as head chef at Oak Steakhouse. Next week, he and the staffers at the Charleston Beer Exchange present the first-ever beer dinner at Oak on Mon. Aug. 15.

The eight-course event features parings of nine beers from Baltimore's Stillwater Artisanal Ales and Denmark's Evil Twin Brewing with a staggering assortments of dishes. Brewers/entrepreneurs Brian Strumke of Stillwater and Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø of Evil Twin — two world travelers with a taste for the unusual — will be on hand, too. The two brewers will host a late afternoon meet 'n' greet and six-beer tasting at the Charleston Beer Exchange headquarters at 14 Exchange Street from 5-6 p.m. before heading around the corner to Oak to guide the diners through each course. The Beer Exchange guys refer to both hosts as "amazing craft beer superstars," and they describe the event as "what we dare say may be the most epic beer dinner event ever."

Reservations for this event are very limited. The price $125 per person. Call Oak directly at (843) 722-4220 to reserve a seat.
