With the summer months getting hotter and hotter, farmers markets are overflowing with fresh produce. EVO Pizzeria has the perfect way to celebrate locally farmed vegetables. Chef Blake McCormick will cook up vegetables from Thackeray Farms and Limehouse Produce for a menu that consists of personal-sized, made-to-order pizzas, cold salads, snacks, and gazpacho. There will also be a pickle bar showcasing a variety of pickling methods and a fresh mozzarella station featuring pulled-to-order mozzarella paired with an array of local tomatoes. “We rarely consider closing the restaurant for a night, but we are honored and excited to celebrate and showcase the peak of produce in Charleston. Coupled with great beer, great music, and what we hope to be a night with all of our friends, we have the makings for a pretty special Monday night in June,” says Ben Garbee, general manager of EVO. There’ll be wine available as well as Wadmalaw Wit, a Belgian witbier featuring Ambrose Farms strawberries, and Sup Baby, a black IPA, both from Holy City Brewing. While feasting on the cuisine, diners can enjoy bluesy tunes from local singer songwriter Maya Morrill with Gerald Gregory on the piano.
