If we could, we’d be on the first plane to Napa for a long weekend of wine tasting. But since that’s not an option, we’ve got the next best thing right here in town. The Macintosh hosts Tadeo Borchardt, winemaker from Napa’s Neyers Vineyards, for a five-course meal paired with wine. Neyers Vineyards’ process is both time consuming and expensive — like hand picking and hand sorting the grapes — but it lends itself to beautifully complex wines. Borchardt, who was named a “winemaker to watch” by the San Francisco Chronicle in 2013, will discuss this process as well as how the wine pairs with the plates. Diners will sip on glasses of 2012 Carneros Chardonnay, 2010 Napa Valley Merlot, 2010 Vista Luna Beach Ranch Zinfandel, and 2010 Neyers Ranch-Conn Valley Cabernet Sauvignon during the course of the evening.
