Charleston-based alternative rock band Needtobreathe is rarely in town. Over the last two years, the quartet — singer/guitarist Bear Rinehart, guitarist Bryant Rinehart, bassist Seth Bolt, and drummer Joe Stillwell — has been on the road in North America and Europe, opening for Taylor Swift and other pop superstars and playing on shows like The Late Show with David Letterman. Their diligent efforts are in support of a twangy, well-polished new studio album titled The Reckoning (Atlantic). The band kicked off a 10-week headlining tour in February, starting with a show in Houston on Feb. 15. Fortunately for Lowcountry fans, the trip includes a homecoming concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Saturday. The tour concludes at the Little John Coliseum in Clemson (not far from the band’s hometown of Seneca) on April 27. Nashville-based singer/songwriter Ben Rector opens in support of his new album Something Like This.
