We’ve had a sad little classical music drought here in Charleston since the Charleston Symphony Orchestra suspended operations; we really hope they’ll be up and running again soon. Until that time, chamber, classical, and orchestral music fans can check out the annual Mozart in the South Festival.
Presented by Chamber Music Charleston, the four-day event features musicians from CMC as well as the CSO and other local professionals. Concerts will include music from Mozart and others (Beethoven, Debussy, Dvorak) at downtown churches (Sept. 9, 10) and Middleton Place for the Finale (Sept. 12). On Sat. Sept. 11, the free Little Mozart Circus will take over Marion Square, where budding classical music fans can enjoy interactive performances throughout the day. —Erica Jackson
