We know we’re going to seem crazy when we tell you to celebrate Mother’s Day with the 5K Mom’s Run at Blackbaud Stadium, but hear us out. Sure, it sounds stinky and sweaty, but the thing about moms — and dads, too — is that they like to spend time with their families. So, put on your running shoes, race through the 3.1 miles, and then hit up the Family Fun Day after the race, where the stadium will have “free food, jump castle, games, and crafts for kids, plus exhibitors and some vendors selling great last-minute Mother’s Day gifts,” says Holly Fisher, president of the board for Postpartum Support Charleston, which benefits from the race. The 5K course starts at the stadium then heads through some neighborhood streets before looping back to the stadium. Runners can pick up packets at Fleet Feet in Mt. Pleasant on Fri. May 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or the day of the race. And if you’re a last-minute kind of person, you can register the morning of, starting at 7 a.m.
