Michael Ian Black: Black is White Tour

When: Sat., Sept. 10, 8 & 10 p.m. 2011
Price: $20

Much of Michael Ian Black’s career has been about subtraction. He started out on MTV’s The State sketch show, along with 10 other comedians who you most likely know and love. Take away a bunch of those guys, leave Black, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney, and you’ve got Viva Variety. Replace the other two with Michael Showalter and David Wain and there’s Stella. Cut out Wain — who needs him? — and Michael & Michael Have Issues is born. And on Sept. 10, he’ll be in Charleston all by his lonesome, performing stand-up at Theatre 99. The stop is part of his Black on White tour, promoting Very Famous, a Comedy Central special and CD, both of which were released earlier this month.
