Recently, Upper King Street welcomed a new kid to the block, a thumping nightlife destination with a chic gray-and-black interior. But we shouldn't let the glamour confuse us, as Mercury Bar is more than just a dance club. Dinner options include a variety of tapas that are just as appealing as the decor. The Asian-influenced menu has eclectic dishes like the seared ahi salad with ginger soy dressing and lettuce wraps with spicy Asian barbecue. Sunday brunch shouldn't be missed with classics like shrimp and grits and a sweet crème brûlée french toast. —Eric Doksa, Dish (Summer 2012)
