Luckiest Thing to Happen to Sausage Lovers

Craig Deihl’s Artisan Meat Share

Staff Pick

The Artisan Meat Share is a dream-come-true for charcuterie fans. How many times have you sampled a sliver of some house-cured meat at McCrady’s, High Cotton, or Cypress and wished you could take some home with you? Well, thanks to the enterprising work of Craig Deihl, now you can. That is, if you acted fast! Inspired by the popularity of local Community Supported Agriculture programs, Deihl decided to let people buy into his own artisanal meat program, and he sold out all 100 shares in no time. He butchers hogs, cures meats, and spends countless hours preparing salami, mortadella, coppa, and pork butter, and four times a year, subscribers can pick up their own little bit of hog heaven.
