Get off regretsy.com (unless you’ve never visited the site, and in that case direct your web browser there immediately) and prepare for the return of the Lowcountry Artist Market. Inspired by Etsy.com, this Music Farm-curated event gives Charlestonians a chance to peruse and purchase locally handcrafted items. The follow-up to the market held earlier this summer bears the same name, but the Farm staff has made some changes to make browsing the goods more enjoyable. The venue’s open doors and the city’s June heat didn’t mix well, but the autumn weather should make your craft buying no sweat. Also, the number of vendors has been reduced from 40 to 30, freeing up floor space and making the market easier to navigate. Candy Shop Vintage, Dodeline Design, Finkelstein’s Center, and a few other vendors from the previous market return (like Stinge Vintage, which is run by two CP employees), but Music Farm Manager Kristen Gastaldo says she wants to keep the selection fresh. The bar will be open, but please: Don’t drink and buy. Just kidding. If you can’t make it, Gastaldo tells us she plans on holding the markets seasonally. —Jansen Cumbie
